University of British Columbia, 1967, BSc, Agriculture (Plant Science)


Mike Sanders was born in Vancouver in 1943 and received a BSA degree in Plant Science in 1967. During his period at UBC, Mike was Faculty President (1966-67) and he describes his experience at UBC as being “one big party”.

Mike spent 30 years in Horticulture Extension with the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and regards extension as providing him with a great career. He published several research papers and numerous extension articles and publications. In 1996 he received a Distinguished Extension Award from the International Dwarf Fruit Tree Association.

Mike and wife Judi reside in Westbank, BC, and they have one son and one daughter.
