After official retirement at age 55, Mrs Turner and husband Ray took up 15-year “encore” careers as cruise ship lecturers, which allowed them to travel the world.

Ivy Turner resides in West Vancouver, BC, and her family of one son, three daughters and seven grandchildren, all live in the Vancouver area. Her husband, Ray, died in 1997.
