Herman Driediger was born in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1941 and received a BSc (Agr) with a Major in Agronomy in 1965.
Herman was employed by the Farm Credit Corporation and worked also in the feed industry as a sales/service representative. He has been actively engaged in commercial egg and broiler production in the Fraser Valley for 30 years.
Herman Driediger has an impressive record of service to the agricultural industry and to his community, as President of the BC Egg Producers Association and of the Abbotsford/Matsqui Chamber of Commerce, as Vice-President of the Agricultural Research and Development Corporation, and as Chairman of the Abbotsford Airport Authority. Directorships have included the BC Agricultural Research Council, the SPARK Steering Committee of the BC Science Council, the BC Ministry of Agriculture Policy Advisory Committee, the BC Broiler Growers Association, and the UCFV Foundation. Memberships of industry and community bodies included the Federal/Provincial Task Force on Supply Management, the Fraser Valley College Agricultural Task Force, the Fraser Valley College Agricultural Advisory Committee, the BC Institute of Agrologists, the Agricultural institute of Canada, the Canada Farm Debt Review Board, and the Agriculture Committee of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Driediger resides in Abbotsford, BC. He has four sons and six grandchildren.
