Doris Kavanagh (nee Larkin) was born in Saskatoon in 1927 and graduated with a BSA (Hons) in 1950. She had moved to Vancouver with her family in 1940 and graduated from Lord Byng High School in 1945.

“Following graduation from UBC, I worked in Vitamin Control for Ayerst, McKenna and Harrison in Montreal for one year, then for the Government of Canada Food and Drug Directorate in Vancouver, Ottawa and Halifax, Nova Scotia until retiring in 1959.

I was married in 1954 to Patrick Kavanagh (BA Mount Allison, MD Dalhousie , 1959).

We lived in Halifax, Upper Musquodoboit and South Brookfield, Nova Scotia, then moved to Creston, BC in January 1968. In 1986 we moved to Uranium City, Saskatchewan, until 1991. We are now settled in Invermere, BC.”

Together Pat and Doris enjoy good health, keep busy with church, golf, bridge, camping and friends.

Dr and Mrs Kavanagh have five children, all married, and fourteen grandchildren.
