Dina Schwertfeger was born in Sacramento, California in 1972 and received a BSc (Agr) degree with Honours in Soil Science in 1998. Her undergraduate thesis was on “Assessing the changes in soil chemical and mineralogical properties as a result of land use changes”. Following graduation , Dina began employment with Soilcon Laboratories Ltd., Richmond BC, and took the position of Laboratory Manager/Project Coordinator in 2000. Previous work experience was with the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Station, Agassiz and BC; Lloyd’s Reforestation, Prince George, BC. Past overseas experience includes a semester of studies at the Sorbonne University, Paris France, and work with a community organic farm in Penang, Malaysia. Dina is a registered Professional Agrologist (PAg) and Soil Consultant. She is a member of the BC Institute of Agrologists and of Pacific Regional Society of Soil Science (PRSSS). She currently resides in Vancouver BC.
