University of British Columbia, 1946, BSc, Agriculture (Horticulture)


Alexander Watt was born in 1918 in Wales, UK. He received a BSA (Horticulture) in 1946, graduating with the Wilfred Sadler Memorial Gold Medal.

Alec worked as a District Horticulturist with the BC Ministry of Agriculture from 1946 to 1974. He was promoted to Supervising Horticulturist in 1974 and relocated to the Summerland Research station in 1975. He retired in 1981 and was awarded the Lionel Taylor Cup for service to the Tree Fruit Industry.

Mr Watt lives in Summerland, BC. His wife (Nan) passed away in 2000. He has one son (John) and one daughter (Elizabeth).
